Our Favorite Books for New Witches

Witchcraft is most definitely on the rise! As people yearn to take more control of their destinies, to live more in tune with nature, and to learn more about spirituality, witchcraft often presents itself as a path to be trodden. But, everyone's witchy journey is different.

There are multiple paths within witchcraft itself, both religious and not, and countless books to read on all manner of topics, from highly specialized niche subjects to more broadened 101 type books. If you're new to witchcraft, navigating all of this for the first time can be a bit of a minefield, to say the least.

But fear not, we're here to help! When you're entirely new to a topic, it's best to start out small and see how you go. So, rather than overwhelm you with a huge list of witchcraft books for beginners (and believe us, there are tonnes to choose from!), we've narrowed it down to our two favorite spiral-bound copies.

Spiral-bound books are perfect for witchcraft! Created as 'working books' that you can use and abuse time and time again, they are ideal for spell crafting. The flat format makes it much easier to keep your page while you rummage around your herb cabinet, sourcing spell ingredients and whipping up potions on the stove. So, without further ado, here are our favorite books for new witches!

Green Witchcraft: A Practical Guide to Discovering the Magic of Plants, Herbs, Crystals, and Beyond by Paige Vanderbeck

If you find yourself particularly drawn to nature, and working with plants and herbs, perhaps Green Witchcraft is the path for you. This path teaches one how to live in harmony with the earth's energies, not against it, and this is an excellent introduction to the ways.

While providing a tonne of valuable information, this book has a very light-hearted approach, phrasing its teachings in a practical yet fun way that'll encourage you to explore this new world for yourself. The sections include a huge variety of spells, potions, and rituals to try out, but, best of all, they mostly contain readily available ingredients - rather than having to go on an arduous quest searching for the rarest of herbs and resins!
